The Growing Issue of Privacy and the Rise of the Freelance Economy

Welcome back to work!

Isn’t it interesting how Labour day weekend has become that proverbial switch that triggers our ‘hustle’. It’s not like there is less work to be done over the summer, but without fail we come back in September and things just get hectic. This includes our attitudes toward hiring and staffing up for the Fall – arguably one of the busiest hiring periods of the year.

POP

Last week I published a piece on LinkedIn that talks about how we use the Pop-Up Shop concept for helping our clients get large projects accomplished.  It is getting a lot of buzz online, and not surprisingly given this past weekends New York Times article which describes the “freelance economy as the new normal”.

As for other hot topics – I’m sure you have been following the massive – if not purely salacious story about the privacy breach at ashleyMadison.com,the infamous website that promotes extramarital affairs.  Ironically, AMA Toronto has an event that will be delving into this very issue on September 24th.

This is a topic that is getting plenty of air play among marketers and will likely draw a solid crowd, so bring your business cards for some high quality networking. All of our current US and Canada opportunities are being posted HERE. Make sure you have an updated profile with us if you are exploring new opportunities.
