Alexandra Panousis, President of Media and Executive Advisor, Havas

Alex Panousis has spent more than 20 years in the advertising and communication industries working with some of the biggest brands in the world. Alex is the President of Havas, helping her clients answer business challenges with modern media thinking and innovation. Alex has held a number of executive roles at Publicis Media, CBC, the National Post, Coca Cola and PHD. Alex started her career on the creative agency side at Leo Burnett. She is on the board of several Canadian startups, and has recently joined the board of the Jorgen Ballet. In her spare time she is the host of MarketingTechTO, one of the largest marketing tech forums in Toronto and a professor at Humber’s advertising program.

Mike Nethercott, Partner, Future of Canada Centre & CMO, Deloitte Canada

Mike returned to Deloitte in 2015 as the CMO, where he leads all marketing for the firm and continues to serve clients. He is responsible for supporting the firm’s growth through positioning and opportunity generation. He is a member of the Deloitte Canada Leadership Team and Marketplace Committee.

In 2018, Mike was selected to lead Deloitte’s Future of Canada Centre (FCC), the firm’s central hub for thought leadership and public policy insights. The FCC advances dialogue on a broad spectrum of topics and elevates the profile of the firm as a leader in the marketplace.​

For eight years, Mike was Managing Principal of deecipher, a mid-sized digital and marketing agency, which was integrated into Deloitte in 2015. His clients included Fortune 500, mid-sized companies and numerous start-ups in both Canada and the United States. His sector experience includes technology, real estate, life sciences, media, human resources and professional services.

Prior to his agency role, Mike held in-house marketing roles as CMO of McCarthy McCarthy Tétrault, VP Global Marketing at MDS Inc. a life sciences company and Deloitte Consulting, where he was head of Canada, US and then Europe/Asia marketing, based in New York and Brussels.

Mike is a former naval officer and served for 10 years in the Canadian Armed Forces. He is an alumnus of both the University of Victoria and Carleton University, a mentor in the AMA Mentor Program and former Chair of the Reena Foundation.

Mike and his family live in Richmond Hill, where he restores 70’s sports cars and competes aggressively for Front Garden Awards.

Duri Alajrami, VP, Marketing, Moneris

A Marketing veteran with 20 years’ experience establishing & managing digital and integrated marketing practices within leading global brands and Ad agencies:

  • In 2017 I joined Moneris solutions – Canada’s leading payment solutions provider – to run their Marketing, Communications and Digital divisions.
  • In 2016 I joined Tribal DDB as VP to run their UX, Social and Dev practices (Omnicom).
  • In 2013 I joined Blast Radius / Wunderman as VP of their North American Social Media Practice where I worked on clients such as Starbucks, Nike and Microsoft (WPP).
  • In 2009 I joined Ogilvy Canada as Senior Partner where I established and ran their first social media division and helped grow social revenue from 0 to 7 digits in the first 2 years (WPP).
  • In 2006 I joined MindShare as Managing Director where I established and ran their first Digital Media Divisions across 7 markets in the Middle East and North Africa, based out of Dubai (WPP).

Andrea Cook, President, FCB/SIX

Andrea Cook is the President of FCB/SIX, a 1:1 and digital performance marketing agency. With more than two decades of communications experience, Andrea is an industry leader in the art of connecting brands to consumers in the digital and data age. Under Andrea’s leadership, FCB/SIX was ranked the top Canadian agency at Cannes in 2018, was hailed as one of North America’s most progressive agencies of its time by AdWeek and is a WARC top 50 global digital agency. Andrea also dedicates her time to the promoting the development of women in the industry, including spearheading the launch of the Times- Up/Advertising Toronto and leading the Canadian chapter of the Cannes ‘See It Be It’ program since 2016.

Seraj Bharwani, CSO, AcuityAds

Seraj is currently the Chief Strategy Officer at AcuityAds, a publicly held company offering a multi-screen, digital advertising platform for consumer marketers. He previously co-founded Digitas, a global digital advertising agency, that he took public and later sold to Publicis, and Visible Measures, a third-party digital video measurement company, which he sold to AcuityAds last year. Over the past 25 years, Seraj has done extensive research on video viewership trends across major social and digital platforms and is an authority on consumer trends and insights guiding the future of consumer marketing.
