CMO’s Role In Emergence & Regrowth Post Pandemic

Each year AMA Toronto hosts its popular annual CMO Panel, an event that brings together a cross-industry selection of CMOs. Over the past 8 years, the event dives into key insights from the Bi-Annual CMO Survey conducted by Duke University and the American Marketing Association. The survey details high-level management themes that impact the decisions and planning for marketing executives, including economic attitude, how marketing departments will be budgeting, where they will be allocating dollars, and the make up of technology, talent, and channel investments.

Last year the results of the study released in February 2020 lost all their relevance in a world transformed by Covid-19, thus instead we explored how companies were surviving or pivoting to keep in business. This year we will return to the study results and look back at a few predictions made at last year’s event including when attendees expected pre-Covid-19 revenues to return (Hint: Most of us guessed wrong!)

Expect to leave this event with some key takeaways that will equip you with case examples for where to invest in talent, how to structure your marketing mix and win more dollars from your CFO.
