AMA The Chief Marketer – Exploring the Then & Now of the Modern CMO

AMA Toronto hosts an annual CMO breakfast which brings a cross industry panel of CMO’s to explore the latest findings of the Bi-Annual AMA CMO Survey.
Last years event took place June 11th 2014 and examined the February 2014 results (http://cmosurvey.org/results/survey-results-february-2014/)

With all the changes that have happened – marketing departments of 2014 look very different to how they did pre-recession. Today’s CMO is faced with an explosion of new channels and technologies, budgets squeezed and smaller head counts, and questions about who owns customer service, pricing & revenue management and internal communications.
The topic’s covered included:
– The Marketing Budget: The Marketing Mix
– How is technology enabling or disabling the organization
– Where are your experts: In house or external?
– What is the role of outsourcing and off shoring?
– The CMO scorecard
– Talent: Then and Now.
